In Windows a card’s current settings are designed to be saved when you reboot the system. If the defaults are being loaded or your changes are not being saved after a reboot, then something is not working as it should.

The settings are stored in a file called ASIDRV.TXT which should be located in your C:\Windows directory (assuming C: is your root drive). When your system is started, our driver looks for this file, reads the info there and sets your ASI card to match the settings it finds. There are a few things that can interfere with that process:

1. Changes to the file are written when the system is shutdown properly, therefore a "hard-boot" or a power outage that results in Windows not shutting down in an orderly fashion will prevent those changes from being saved and the system will boot with the previous settings still intact.

2. Something is preventing that file from being updated. Usually either the file has been set to "read only" or there is some other user rights issue keeping the system from modifying the file. The best way to check for this is to look at the date/time on the ASIDRV.TXT file and see if it has a recent update.  One way to clear the problem is to either delete or rename ASIDRV.TXT to something else and then reboot the system.  A new ASIDRV.TXT file will then be created and you can try your changes again.

3. Do you have automation software installed? If yes then it is possible the changes are being restored but the automation software is changing them back once it starts. The best way to check for this is to set your automation software to not automatically start at bootup, and then check ASIControl to see if your changes have been restored. If they have, then start your automation software and check if the settings change.
